Where are you based?
We are based in Lancashire in a village called Aughton. We do deliver nationwide however, using a haulage network with delivery depots covering the whole of the UK.
Are the bulk bags returnable?
Unfortunately, no. However, they are reusable for purposes such as collecting garden clippings, etc. We ask our customers to consider the environment when disposing of any packaging.
Can I pay cash on delivery?
Unfortunately we cannot take cash on delivery as our deliveries are made using an outside haulier. Orders would need to be paid for by card beforehand, either online or over the phone.
What size lorry do you deliver on?
Standard deliveries are made on an 18 tonne delivery vehicle. Generally, if a refuse truck can get down your road then we can. If you are concerned about access please give our team a call to discuss it further.
Do you deliver on Saturdays?
Yes. However, a Saturday delivery entails a £30 surcharge, so many of our customers opt for a Friday delivery if they want the goods for the weekend.
Does the price include delivery and VAT?
Yes, the price quoted is the all inclusive delivered price.
Do I need to apply new topsoil when laying a new lawn?
Not necessarily – it all depends on the quality of the soil you already have. As a guide, you need a minimum of 75mm (3 inches) of good quality topsoil underneath your turf.
Should I use topsoil or compost?
This is dependent on what you are using it for. Compost and Vegeblend are good additions to beds and borders, whereas topsoil is better for laying turf and building up levels. See our topsoil buying guide for more information.
Do you have a minimum order?
Any number of bulk bags can be ordered, but we have a minimum order for the Top Soil Large Packs of 10 packs.
How much soil is in a Top Soil Large Pack?
Each pack weighs approximately 20kg and will cover approximately 1.3sq/m to a depth of half an inch.
How much soil is in a bulk bag?
As a general guide the bulk bags are a cubic meter in size and contain around 850kg of soil. A bulk bag will cover approximately 30 sq meters to a depth of 25mm.
Do I have to be home when the delivery is made?
We can arrange for the delivery to be left without a signature, although we would need prior notice.
Can I specify a delivery time?
You can specify either a morning delivery (before 1pm) or an afternoon delivery (after 12pm) for an extra £10.00. Unfortunately we’re unable to specify a more accurate time than this. This option is available in the checkout section of the website.
Can I pick a delivery day?
In the checkout section of the website you can choose your delivery day from the calendar. Our standard delivery days are Tuesday through to Friday.
Do you deliver to where I live?
We cover the entire mainland UK, however our delivery lorry will need space to access your road & requires a flat, hard surface to lower the pallet on to. If you think delivery could be an issue for a full sized lorry - get in touch with the team to arrange a smaller wagon delivery on 01695 422 144
Will I receive an invoice or receipt?
Once your order has been placed you should receive a confirmation within a few minutes. This confirmation e-mail will act as your invoice and receipt.
How much notice do I need to give for delivery?
As long as your order is received before 2pm we can offer a next-day delivery service.
What do I do with the pallet?
Our haulage company do not collect the pallet used for delivery, so we ask that you think of the environment when you dispose of your pallet. Your council or a local business may be able to advise on this.
